In a same-day Social Media Post, Nicki Minaj announced she would go Live on Social Media, Thursday, May 13, 2021, 11PM EST, and this would also accompany a New Music drop at Midnight. In about a 15 minute Instagram Live, Nicki Minaj announced the Special Release of her Mixtape ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’ on its Anniversary, originally released in 2009. Nicki Minaj said she had never released a prior Mixtape to Stream before, but would be doing so this time around in her effort to take some things back to the basics, as she said- such as what inspired her to initially rap, the catchy rap punchlines. Minaj talked about a period of writer’s block during her recent hiatus, and what had sparked back her pen, once again, which she credited as a conversation with Drake. Minaj said she asked Drake for a suggestion of a hot new song out right now for her to feature on... and along with motivating words, Drake had actually sent her a new track to jump on. This New Single is called, “Seeing Green” and in her Live, which later became joined by Drake, was announced to feature Drake and Lil’ Wayne. As they said, “It was time.” Nicki Minaj mentioned to her fans that they may not hear a few songs included that didn’t make the New Release for whatever reason, but, that in addition to the Young Money collaboration, there would be two additional New Singles to drop on the ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’ Special Release, ‘Fractions’ and ‘Crocodile Teeth Remix’.
