       It has been announced that there will be a Biopic developed to highlight the life of the Late Comedian, Actor Bernie Mac. The announcement came to public at the Tribeca Film Festival. Although the project is at its beginning stages, fans will be happy to know that the project is backed by the Bernie Mac Estate. They have partnered together on the film, so, to many, that makes it that much more special. We also know that this typically lends itself to getting the input and approval from those who knew him best.
      John Legend's Production Company, Get Lifted, will be creating the film. During the announcement of the film, John Legend's producing partner said, "It’s about the opportunities to tell a story that you feel are important.” John Legend recalled working with Bernie Mac on the movie, 'Soul Men', He truly just got joy from lighting people’s faces up with laughter,” he said. And about his Emmy Award Winning, 'The Bernie Mac Show', John Legend had this to say, “It was beautifully done. His humor was always edgy but it always had so much heart to it at the same time. You could tell he was a family man. You could tell that he loved the people he was talking about.” No further details of the film of Bernie Mac's story have been revealed, as this is the beginning stages, but we will stay tuned.

       Michelle Williams releases her new book, ‘Checking In: How Getting Real About Depression Saved My Life - and Can Save Yours’, and she gets very candid about her battle with her mental health.  Williams says that she was originally diagnosed with depression in 2017, but had gone through periods of suffering from this many years before then. She speaks of an instance when she originally disclosed her feelings she had been having, but with her being at the height of her Destiny’s Child career, the person that she originally opened up to tried to make her feel better by bringing up the group’s accomplishments. Williams says from her viewpoint, the best way to help someone when they feel that they are suffering with mental health is to offer them help, and to hold their hand during the process, including seeking a therapist. She says, “You know what? I can only imagine how you are feeling. How can I best serve you during this time? I’ll hold your hand. Do I need to help you find a therapist? What can I do to help you in this time?” 
       In 2018, Williams checked into a facility to address her depression, and says at the time she had to build up the courage to share this information, initially feeling like a hypocrite for having sung and proclaimed such powerful uplifting words through her Christianity. With that courage, instead of letting her representative come out with the news, she decided she must speak her own truth. In addition, in the book, Michelle Williams details her 3 Pillars of “Checking In” that she lives by, and can help others live a more free life, which include checking in with yourself, checking in with others, and checking in with God. With mental illness being such a struggle for many, Michelle Williams felt the need to share so much of her personal story, as well as offer hope to others. Michelle Williams’ New Memoir, ‘Checking In’, is now available.

​          If you just can’t seem to get enough of CW’s and later, BET’s ‘The Game’, then you are going to be so happy to hear that a Reboot is in the works. Yup, it has happened again! If you are a fan of ‘The Game’, you already know that the Series came back after being Canceled for 2 years by the CW Network. Two years after, the BET network picked up the show. It went on for an additional six Seasos, and had fans tuned in every week up until the Series concluded its BET run. Now, for its next chapter, 15 years after the show premiered its first episode, it has been announced that Mara Brock Akil and Kelsey Grammer’s created and executive-produced Series, is headed for yet another Return. This time, as a Reboot, and will be coming to a new streaming platform near you, Paramount+. ‘The Game’, which originally was based in San Diego, will be moving its Reboot’s storyline to Las Vegas. Yes, there will be returning characters, Tasha Mack, played by Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Malik Wright, played by Hosea Chanchez. In addition, the show will also feature some additional returning original cast member cameos, to be later announced. Although there will be appearances by original cast members, the Reboot will be centered around new characters that will give a current, fresh perspective on ‘The Game’ football culture, and “offer a modern-day examination of Black culture through the prism of pro football,” says Mara Brock Akil. An official premiere date has not been announced, but look forward to seeing at least 10 episodes in the future. Stay tuned.

          Rapper and Actor Earl Simmons "DMX" has passed away at age 50, surrounded by his family and loved ones at the White Plains, NY Hospital. He is said to have been a fighter until the very end. Ultimately, the passing came as a result of multiple organ failures, including kidney, liver, and later of the lungs. An Official Statement has been released by DMX's Family.
       It reads, "We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50 years old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end. He loved his family with all of his heart and we cherish the times we spent with him. Earl's music inspired countless fans across the world ans his iconic legacy will live forever. We appreciate all of the love and support during this incredibly difficult time. Please respect our privacy as we grieve the loss of our brother, father, uncle and the man the world knew as DMX. We will share information about his memorial service once details are finalized."
       DMX, birth name Earl Simmons, Championed Music and Prayers throughout his Legacy, that touched many, that will Live On.

          Rapper DMX has been hospitalized from what sources connected say is due to a drug overdose. DMX has publicly spoken of his battle with addiction in the past. In 2019, he attended a Rehabilitation program. His most recent large scale public appearance was on the Instagram Live 'Verzuz' Battle where he appeared with Snoop Dogg. The initial condition was said to be that the Rapper was rushed to a White Plains, NY Hospital and had been placed on life support, following a drug overdose, and a subsequent heart attack. Although the initial state was critical, there were signs of brain activity. This just in, Rapper DMX has been recently taken off life support, and is reportedly breathing on his own. However, this news has not been confirmed by DMX’s Representatives. Following his release from the Rehabilitation program in 2019, in DMX's first appearance, he said during his set to the crowd of fans, "When you fall down, get back up. Everyone here has been through some s*** and you never know what God is willing to do for you until you need him to do something for you." We hope for a speedy recovery for DMX and he comes out of this as his best self. His prognosis is still developing.        Singer, Songwriter Keyshia Cole has announced in a Social Media Post that she has officially Changed Her Mind... That's right, Keyshia Cole said that she has decided to Retire from Music. Cole went on to further explain that she will not be releasing any New Music... that is, she says, after her Final Album she is obligated to fulfill on Sony's Epic Records. When Fans responded back to Keyshia Cole's Social Media Post, asking the Singer to Say It Isn't So, she adds that, although she will not record any New Music, you can catch her when the time comes, when she performs Live with the Music that she has previously recorded. Recording Artist, Keyshia Cole, says that she has come to this decision because it will allow her to do something that is very important to her. She reveals that this decision will allow her to be able to spend more time with her children, and be a Mom. She also added that she will take her time making her Final 8th Studio Album, and will not rush the project. We will stay tuned and keep you updated!

          Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are responding to the rumors that have been swirling around about the Power Couple over the last couple of days. On Friday, PRCandys.com reported that the Pair had called off their Two-Year Engagement and had broken up. The time has come that J.Lo and A-Rod have spoken out in response to the break up talk that has been circulating. The couple says, "All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things." They allude that it also was not due to any third party. For further confirmation, while outside his gym in Miami, when asked, A-Rod said he is Not Single. When sources were asked why they said otherwise just a couple of days ago of their relationship, the response was that things were "bad" this past Friday. No direct word on if the Engagement still stands. Whatever happened or didn't happen this past Friday, both J.Lo and A-Rod say that they are Still together. Wishing them the best.

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez announced that they have decided to end the Engagement, and their Romantic Relationship. In a Joint Statement, JLo and ARod said, "We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."

       This Weekend is Grammy Weekend. To many, perhaps, this is a very exciting time... unless your name is: The Weeknd. Singer, Songwriter, The Weeknd, has announced that he will not be attending the 63rd Grammy Awards, which airs Sunday, March 14, 2021, 8pm EST/5pm PST. He will instead be boycotting this, and future Grammy Awards, the Recording Artist says. He also mentioned that he felt there were “secret committees” who ultimately decides the results, and called for more “transparency”. To make it official, The Weeknd says that he will not be submitting his Music to the Grammys anymore. This decision and public announcement came after he felt snubbed by the Award Show. He did not receive a Nomination for his critically-acclaimed “After Hours” Album, featuring Singles, “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless”, despite their Billboard Chart-Topping History. This is also despite winning Three Grammy Awards in the past for his Singles, “Earned It” and “Starboy”, as well as for Best Urban Contemporary Album for “Beauty Behind The Madness”. 
          This is not the first time that an Artist has announced that they are choosing to boycott the Grammys in protest because they felt they were snubbed in some way. Here are 10 Artists who also have previously boycotted the Grammy Awards ceremony:  Jay Z, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Frank Ocean, Kid ‘N Play, Salt ‘N Peppa, To The Weekend’s Boycott, the Grammy Awards released a statement saying, “We’re all disappointed when anyone is upset. But I will say that we are constantly evolving. And this year, as in past years, we are going to take a hard look at how to improve our awards process, including the nomination review committee. The Grammy Awards have released follow-up statements in response to a boycott in the past, as well. Fans and Critics will look to see the Award Show’s follow-up on this statement, such as from future Grammy Award Shows.
          This year”s 63rd Grammy Awards is hosted by Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Host, Trevor Noah. The show is said to be packed with performances and will have a more intimate feel, with consideration to the pandemic, and with focus to still capturing the essence of the Grammys, while also considering that their audience can better resonate with intimate home-watcher settings. The 63rd Grammy Awards can be watched Sunday Night, on the CBS Network, or can be Live Streamed through the available options on the official Grammy.com Website.

       So sad to report, that the Engagement of Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez is rumored to be called off. When the news broke, the initial thoughts were that potentially this was all part of their elaborate plan. In an Interview with Access Hollywood in December 2020, Jennifer Lopez said on the topic, "And I think we just feel like, let's just wait it out. There's no rush, we're good, everything's cool and it'll happen when the time is right. I feel like it's not a huge priority to go and have a big wedding right now, that's not what life is about." So... potentially the Call Off was planned? Lopez had also previously told Bravo's Andy Cohen in an Interview, that the couple, had actually considered not actually getting married, mentioning that the pandemic gave them time to pause and to reflect on marriage. Lopez said, "At our age, you know, we've both been married before. It's like, do we get married? Do we not? What does it mean for us?" However, this is a different type of Call Off to their Two-Year Engagement, if true... It is also the end to the chapter of their relationship. There are speculations that the break up is allegedly due to interactions Alex Rodriguez had with Bravo 'Southern Charm' Reality Star, Madison LeCroy. It is alleged that there were some FaceTime conversations that the two had during the couple's relationship, although sources say that the two have never actually met in person. Lopez is currently in the Dominican Republic filming her upcoming film, "Shotgun Wedding", while Rodriguez is currently back home in Miami. We have yet to receive an Official Comment from the couple in regards to officially calling off their engagement. Story developing.

       There are new talks that have resurfaced about there potentially being a Sequel for the 1998 Hit Film, ‘The Players Club’. That’s right, the discussion has picked back up again about the Ice Cube Film’s return, and as suspected, it has been quite eventful, so far! It all started with a Social Media Post from former Reality Star of the ‘Basketball Wives’ Franchise, turned Actress, Draya Michelle, posting to her Instagram Story, two pictures of herself, alongside a picture of the members of the original cast. The caption read, “This could be me in a reboot, but ya’ll playing.” Of course, it did not stop there, because this was followed by a Social Media Post by none other than Reality Star, Joseline Hernandez, of the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ Franchise, who also has Music and Acting Credits, posting a caption of her very own... in the Comments of a related Social Media Post. Joseline Hernandez commented, “Except that she’s not #joselinescabaret, everyone will agree that I’m the perfect girl @icecube.” For the record, Ice Cube did not leave any comment.
       Following this, in a recent Interview shortly thereafter the Ladies made their Social Media Calls for the Lead Role, Actress and Talk Show Host LisaRaye McCoy, spoke on the big debate in an Interview with ‘Sister 2 Sister’ Magazine, ‘The Players Club’ Lead Actress, who played the character of Diamond, LisaRaye McCoy, touches on a possible Reboot and weighed in on who her Pick would be for who should play her Talked-About, Breakout Role. McCoy says that Hernandez definitely has the body for the role. She says, “Honey, she got it, she got body ody ody ody for days,” but says that she feels that Michelle would ultimately give the role the justice that it deserves. Although that was her opinion of the big debate, she also mentioned on an episode of the ‘Fox Soul’ Talk Show that she Co-Hosts, that she is not opposed to a Reboot, but that the Movie should definitely be done right. McCoy also added that sometimes, characters need to stay as they are without any add ons. On the topic, McCoy said on the ‘Fox Soul’ Talk Show, “I do have a problem with some of the Sequels. Sometimes when they’re done so well, it’s as if the first time you see it- it’s like- let Diamond be Diamond.” She went on to say, “Maybe somebody can play Cubic Zirconia.” She continued to expand, “Diamond was done so well, so she’s still Diamond. You know what I mean? I don’t know what to say.” McCoy also mentions that maybe, should there be a Reboot, that they go with a new Actress, just as they did when she took on the popular role.
       For all ’The Players Club’ fans out there, this is the good news that you’ve been waiting for... that these kinds of talks are even happening. This may be yet another Reboot to look out for.        The Time Has Come! The Coming 2 America! The Highly-Anticipated Sequel, ‘Coming 2 America’ has premiered this weekend, Friday, March 5, 2021. Without any spoilers, the Sequel continues in modern times with... just what happened next. They have a clever way of weaving the new beginning all together for the audience. In true modern fashion, it is also notable, that ‘Coming 2 America’ is exclusively available for broadcast on an Online Streaming Platform, Amazon Prime. With the versatility and the reach of Amazon Prime, it is a Win-Win for the current times of its 2021 Movie Premiere. Many at-home Movie Goers have watched the Movie, and the Reviews are generally very positive for the film. It is a risk to remake such a Classic Film, so it is a breath of fresh air to see the Sequel receiving such positive reviews and response. Without any spoilers, the two aspects of ‘Coming 2 America’ that are most memorable are the way the film reflects on the Original, and also the Breakout Performances of the Actors. It is truly a Feel-Good Film. If you have yet to watch ‘Coming 2 America’, it is highly recommended!

       The OWN Network TV Show, Executive Produced by Oprah Winfrey and Lionsgate Television, and Created by Craig Wright, who himself, has been accredited as Writer on TV Shows, such as 'Lost' and 'Six Feet Under', has come to its Final Season. The Ending to the Show was already filmed some months ago, so it is all ready for its upcoming roll out.
        'Greenleaf' stars Keith David and Lynn Whitfield, and is about a family- the Greenleaf Family, who own and run a Megachurch in the city of Memphis with deep ties and rich history, both past, as well as that which is being created. Family Secrets, Lies, and Scandal, and Betrayal come to the forefront, as you get to see the background of what really happens behind the scenes of the governing body of the Greenleaf Megachurch. The TV Show also stars, as part of the Leading Family, Actress Deborah Joy Winans, the niece of Gospel Singers, Cece and Bebe Winans. Winans plays the role of one of the Preacher's Daughters, Charity. Winans also, by the way, played the role of Cece Winans in the 2014 Lifetime Movie, 'Whitney', a biography in time about Whitney Houston, which was Directed by Angela Bassett.
       The Final Season of Greenleaf, Season 5, was actually anticipated to be the Final Season, in advance, by both Winfrey and Wright. On inception, they saw the show going 5 Seasons, to tell the story. And as the Show went on, Fans kept asking for another Season each and every time, which successfully led to the 5 Season run projected. To that End... or Beginning... the Fans have Asked Again. And This Just In... Due to popular request and demand by the Fans asking for more of Greenleaf, it has just been Announced that there will be a Spin-off TV Show for Greenleaf. Now, none of the details have been announced just yet, such as the story line and the accompanying Cast Members or Characters, or even the name of the Show, just yet, but for Greenleaf Fans, that is just the Answer to their request for more that they've been waiting for! However, they have released a Trailer for Greenleaf that signals for Fans that there is, in fact, more to come.  The Final Season of Greenleaf Premieres on the OWN Network, June 23, 2020, 9P EST/ 6P PST.        Kevin Hart took to his Instagram Live in a surprise appearance to give some thoughtful humor to the current state of the world on Mother's Day. He started out with some thoughtful words about his thoughts on the impact of COVID-19, and then kept that discussion throughout as he talked and joked with his Celebrity Friends.
